In 1988 my parent’s home burned to the ground and they lost everything. I was third generation raised in the home so you can imagine everything that had been squirreled into the attic and basement for over 70 years. It took my parents over 18 months and hiring an independent disaster company to deal with the insurance company to finally get fully paid out on the loss of the home and all the assets. Unfortunately, they didn’t know of CYA at that time. If they had it would have made their process less stressful and much quicker to resolve.”
